Frequently asked questions

What are TikTok Highlights?

Older Stories a creator chose to keep on their profile after the usual 24 hours, grouped into named collections with their own cover. A Highlight can mix video and photo Stories, each labelled Video or Photo. For what a creator has up today, use the TikTok Story Viewer.

Do I need a TikTok account to view Highlights?

No. Enter the creator's username or profile link above. You don't need a TikTok account or a StoryHideout account to see their public profile Highlights, on a phone or a computer.

Will the creator see that I viewed their Highlight?

StoryHideout looks Highlights up from its own servers, not from your TikTok account, and you never sign in to TikTok here. What TikTok itself records or shows to creators is outside StoryHideout's control, so we don't promise that a view is invisible.

Why does a creator show no Highlights?

Highlights are still new on TikTok and many creators don't use them yet. Public content only: a private account's Highlights can't be shown. If you see No public Highlights found right now, none could be found for that profile at the moment, and a lookup can also fail when TikTok or the outside data service behind it is busy.

Can I download a whole Highlight at once?

Not yet. Enter the creator above, open one of their Highlights, and download its Stories one at a time in the best available quality; a photo Story with several images saves each image. On a computer your browser downloads the files as usual. On Android, tap the prepared file link to download the video or photo. On iPhone, use the share sheet to save to Photos where supported; otherwise, open the video to save it or press and hold a photo. Only what is still in the Highlight can be shown: a Story the creator removed or deleted is gone, and StoryHideout never shows Stories it saved for other accounts.

Can I keep the Stories that don't make it into a Highlight?

Highlights only hold the older Stories a creator chose to keep. To save their future Stories too, choose Save future Stories on a result: StoryHideout then checks that creator's public profile in the background and saves the new Stories it detects to your Story history. Checks run on a schedule, so a Story is saved some time after it is posted, and one that is posted and removed between two checks can't be detected. The automatic TikTok Story Saver explains how monitoring works.
